Affected Instruments: MAT250, MAT250UF, MAT251, MAT260, MAT261, MAT262, MAT271, MAT281

Issue: Sticky relays in BLS/BLG units due to peak currents during switch-on. Severe downtime is likely, because compatible relay types are unavailable.

Preventive Actions: Reduce peak currents by a time-delayed device that ramps up the voltage after switch-on.

The Solution: We supply this special device ex-stock. It just needs to be plugged between the sockets for Electronics, Ion Source, ruughing pump and the related plugs. Our PCU unit (BLS replacement) has exchangeable relays and can be delivered together with the protective device on request.
